Just a few layouts

A couple weeks ago I went to a weekend crop. Here's 3 layouts that are done, the others well...they are in the "process" of being done...about 96% done.

KICKIN IS WITH DAD

I'm sure this was a Studio Calico kit from a few month back

LITTLE MAN
These picture just crack me up...one day I was walking past the bathroom and looked, asked Kaden "what are you doing?" He says "I'm getting ready for the party at school!", I replied, "you took a shower without telling me?"...I guess my little baby is growing up.

My Little Shoebox Thankful Blog Hop

Thank you for joining me on the My Little Shoebox, "Thankful Blog Hop!"

You should be hoping from Patti's blog! If you came her by chance that's perfectly fine! But we would love for you to hop along with us and you can start out at the My Little Shoebox blog and just keep clicking from blog to blog. Trust me, you have to see all the creativity these girls have-they are awesome!

Since Thanksgiving is just around the corner, I thought it would be fitting to make a layout of what I'm most thankful for...that would be my family.

Please let me share my layout entitled:
Our Family

and a couple close-ups!

To make the flowers pop a bit more, I used some embroidery thread and buttons.

Check out the chipboard letters, I ran them right through the cuttlebug machine to give them a little extra texture! Here's a closer-up peek too.

Don't you just love that punch? You are probably asking what kind is it and where can I get it...right?!?!?!

Well, I got my at a local craft store (Michael's) and it's called Chinese Knot from EK Success. For the technique I used. first I punched a 12 inch strip and stitched it down the middle. It look ok, but just a bit flat. So I punched another 12 inch strip out, folded it in half and stitched it right down on the top of the other one. The punch is very versatile, you can even cut apart the pieces and make unique flowers or butterflies.

You probably noticed this is a mix of all the newest line from My Little Shoebox, they mesh so well together!

Well, it's time to hop on off to the next blog. Please join me in visiting Tracey's blog. Don't forget there's always a treasure box at the end of the rainbow...or in this case a prize package at the end of the blog hop. So keep on hopping until you reach the end!

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining us, leaving us heart warming comments and enjoying this wonderful hobby of scrapbooking!

and just for you....I would LOVE for you to join my Following Blog Link (it's on the upper right side of the blog), I will pick one winner that leaves a comment here that is a follower for a RAK! ETA: I'm going to keep this open until Thursday and pick a winner on Thanksgiving Day!

A quick share...

Actually 2 shares...The first is the layout that was featured on the MLS blog yesterday! The second is the article I wrote for the My Little Shoebox Newsletter

Mother's Day Tea Party

I pretty much painted "glimmer mist" on the entire layout to give the page lots sparkle. It's hard to see on the pictures, so I blew up a small portion to see the effect it has! And of course, we partnered up with Creative Charms to make our pages extra fun!

Dress Up Your My Little Shoebox Alpha's
Make your alpha's fit your unique style and coordinate with your page!
By: Melanie Stanczyk

Almost every scrapbook page includes some type of title, journaling or alphabetical wording. My Little Shoebox has three wonderful alphabet styles. I'm going to focus on the chipboard alpha's and dress them up!

There are 100's of different mediums to use. I picked a handful that I thought most of us would have on hand already.

M-dry emboss them and make them stand out. (I ran mine through the cuttlebug)
Y-make them sparkly with Stickles

L-make them worth $10,000 with bling
I-flowers and rub-ons
T-brads and eyelets (you know you have 100's of these!)
T-micro beads give them nice texture
L-give them some age and distress them with sandpaper and ink
E-mica flakes-perfect for winter/snow pages

S-using the chipboard letter as a mask, spay with spray ink
H-make them original and doodle on them
O-embellish with stickpins and flowers
E-glossy accents will make them super shinny
B-play up the font, remove the top layer and dress it with glimmer mist or paint
O-ribbons and bow-oh' so pretty!
X-outline with a pen

A-heat emboss (image is from a MLS stamp)
L-stamp an image (image is from a MLS stamp)
P-pattern paper will make them coordinate perfectly with your page
H-magic mesh
A-journal on them
S-fill in the negative area with Stickles, glitter or micro beads

Don't forget about Friday...the special blog Thankful blog hop for My Little Shoebox (that includes prizes!)
until then..

I have another layout featured...

...on the My Little Shoebox blog today! You can see the layout on the Blog, right now!

Remember yesterday, I posted the Blah, Blah, Blah-She's So Chatty layout. Well, I was browsing my google reader this morning and came across this picture on a post. The girl that posted it actually posted it for herself. But, to my surprise my layout was in the Top 3 Most Liked at the very second she took the picture. I'm glad she captured that for me...and she didn't even know it!

Please visit the My Little Shoebox Blog, check out all the cute projects and layouts!

She's So Chatty

Hello all!

After working with one of the new paper lines by My Little Shoebox called Cute as a Button I came up with this layout entitled:

Here's the stamp set that matches the paper line.

Thank you for stopping by today, I would like to invite you to the My Little Shoebox blog to see more creativity from the design team!
