My Little Shoebox **Story Book**

My assignment for My Little Shoebox this month was to come up with a project. I had a couple ideas in mind but after looking at the paper, I knew what I wanted to do...write a book! I laid out the papers, came up with an outline and wrote a short story about two hedgehogs, Spike and Sara.

A little show and tell from A Kiss on the Chic

Remember on Sunday I told you about Laura's kit that was being revealed that evening (if you missed that post, you can see the post 2 days prior to this one!) Today I thought I would share my layouts from the chic Melody Ross kit.

SHE'S BRILLIANT

This is one of my favorite pictures of Khila, so I use it often. I'm sure when she's 30 she's going to wonder why I scrapped the same phone 14 times. But that's ok...right!?!? I get to make the rules.

Just wait until you feel this flowered paper...it's flocked! So soft, I almost had a hard time cutting it up...almost!

the chipboard pieces are really thick. This one had really cute pom-poms already attached to it.

Last week of the Cherry Banner kit at BlueMoon

Today's the fourth week of using my Cherry Banner kit from BlueMoon, to bring this kit to an end this month I made a couple cards. Notice I did a little of the "hand cutting" of paper, which is our challenge this month at BlueMoon. You can read more about the challenge here!

Hello! If you are blog hopping with Cris, Deb, and myself---you are at the right spot!

If you're stopping by just to visit-great! I have a some fun layouts to share.

How this all started was Cris, Deb and I wanted to find a kit club that we didn't normally use, we each purchased are own kit and just played with it and see what the 3 of us could do. Together we picked the Carousel Scrapbook Kit by Pink Ninjas. Make sure you check out art walk blog, the owner of the kit club!

I called this kit, "the kit with attitude!" It rocks, check out the fun embellishments, I bet you can't find those anywhere else.

Here are my 3 layouts...

This one I followed a sketch I found on the Pink Ninjas blog. My daughter, Khila posing for the camera. Did you notice her leggings match the paper perfect!!

CHIC GIRL

splattering paint all over the paper was fun!



Layout #2, Khila at Halloween, these pictures where perfect for this kit and it don't even look Halloweenish!

IT'S A GIRLZ WORLD

check out the skull on the apple...very cool and funky!


Just a fun area I put together...or we can call this a little eye candy.


Layout #3: Khila again! Good thing I have a beautiful girl, that loves the camera.

BE YOURSELF

These are the coolest flowers! I actually cut apart the teal crochet flower to make 2 and inserted the pink flowers that are already made and included in the kit to form some really cool embellishments.


Gotta have dimension! For the butterflies I used 2 colors of paper, curled the wings on the top on and used the pin for the body of the butterfly. For the flowers, I cut a few extra and used pop-dots!


Lots of fabric/trim in this kit, (thank you Pink Ninjas for that!) I put my title right over the top so it didn't get lost on the pattern paper.

Bloom!

Today I would like to share one the first layouts I did for my new design team position with Creative Imaginations. It was also posted on the CI Blog about a week ago. The line I used is called Maggie's Garden, a Renae's House collection.

BLOOM

I just love stiching on my pages!!!! Some of it is hand stitching and some is machine.

To make the flowers on the bottom of the page "pop" a little bit, I cut a duplicate out from another sheet of paper, outline the petals in stickles and placed a pop-dot under the flower.

The chipboard shapes are great for added dimension of a page.

New Challenge at BlueMoon!!!

First of all HAPPY SPRING!!!!!!

Please join us for our monthly challenge at BlueMoon Scrapbooking. We have had a great turnout with all of you joining us and sharing your awesome work. The challenge for April goes something like this:

You've taken a class with a Chinese paper master cutter, now after an afternoon of intense study it's time to put your new found skills to the test. Pour yourself a very small cup of tea get yourself balanced, pull out your very sharp scissor (we love Tim Holtz Scissors!) and the ancient spirits will work their magic in your fingers.

In simple terms: Take a paper with a graphic design, like Webster's Pages, Graphic 45 or even American Crafts and make the paper be one or more of your embellishments. Cut and have fun.

As you know for me...this is a way of (scrapbooking) life, this is my secret to my pages. I always use the graphics in the paper and cut them out.

I put my Cherry Banner kit into use, cut out a ton of graphics and put together this layout:

SPRING BLISS

I cut the banner from one of the Dear Lizzy papers, curled up the edges a bit to give it some movement.

The flower pattern from one the America Crafts papers work perfect for cutting out patterns and layering them. Of course I added stickles to the flowers for more texture. The little tiny flowers in the flower basket were from the American Crafts thickers sheet, they are perfect for the bike's basket.


I used a lot of layering here with the fence, bird house (with little flowers added to it), the bird (with a wing) and of course more of those flowers.


There's my take on today's challenge. Take out your scissors and start cutting away. I can't wait to see what everyone does. Please post your layout or project in our Creative Challenge gallery at BlueMoon.
