BlueMoon's Nov 30 layout!

Here's layout #3 from the Flea Market Finds Kit at Blue Moon Scrapbooking.

I used the chipboard a little differently this time. I cut 1 piece in half, adhered pattern paper to it, touched-up the edges with a gold paint marker and applied the the Jenni Bowlin rub-on to finish it off. By adding 2 pictures in between them it adds a nice frame to the photos.

I needed some matching embellishments so I punched out some butterflies and once again used the gold market to outline them.

The Prima flower was a bit overwhelming for the space I had, so I unraveled it a bit and used the left pieces over to fill up the empty space. It just falls into place-you would be surprised!

Little Lady!

This month I had fun playing with the Little Lady line from My Little Shoebox! We also teamed up with Clear Scraps and Shimmerz (but I'll post those projects in a week or so).

First, the card!

Layout 1: My little lady.

Cool butterfly right?!?!, I used a clothing iron-on. I had no idea if it would work on paper, but it did! Guess how much....$.47!

and our challenge this month was to scraplift another DT member-what a fun idea!



Next month I'm working with robots! I can't wait for boy pages. This was the line I wanted to play with the most and I had to wait 6 months for my turn to get it! I guess it's true-good things come to those who wait.

It's Monday! Another BlueMoon kit creation!

This is layout #2 from the Flea Market Finds kit at BlueMoon. I think this is my favorite out the ones I did. I just love the warm, soft feel I get when looking at it. I posted all my little hints and tid-bits of info about it on the BlueMoon DT blog. Please stop by!

This is another one of the layouts I did at the crop I attended last week. This layout was chosen by the scrappers as their favorite from all the ones entered. There were so many great layouts, I was really excited that mine was chosen.


Here's a few close-ups. These are the flowers and the little pearls from the alpha sheet.

This is the 7 Gypsies 97% stickers and the graffer tape.


Close-up of the poem. Do you use poems or quotes on your pages? I really like the feel they give a page. I search book after book and finally felt this was a good fit for my page.

Here's some of the Prima packaging I reused. Great way to save a little and recycle. I think it's pretty!

Have you noticed my picture? I sanded the edges to get a nice distressed look. It also makes the edge softer.

and of course paper layering! I just love the way it looks.

Layering Transparencies

Today's post on the BlueMoon DT Blog has a fun and easy tutorial on layering with transparencies. This is 1 of 4 layouts using the new fall kit, Flea Market Finds.

Using a couple steps, this is easy to achieve. First I inked the edges of an 8.5 x 8.5 white piece of cardstock.

Stitched it the center of my 12x12 paper, which is the Jillibean script paper. A nice neutral background to let the leaves take center stage on the layout.

The I stitched the 12x12 transparency over the entire layout.

Here's a good example of all the layers and texture on the layout.

This is a picture of the mounted photo, without mounting it, it just gets "lost" on the paper with all the leaves from my photo and the transparency. This is a good way to break it up.

This is one of the 7 gypsies stickers embellished a bit more. I mounted it on pattern paper, distressed the edges, used a pop-dot to bulk it up abit and embellished with with the Prima leaves, which are included in the kit.

The flower was a bit big for my page, I tore off some of the layers (which I use in another layout soon). Adding stickles are is a nice way of adding texture and sparkle, just dab them on each petal.

So, there you have it. I fun way to use your transparency.

The Writings on the Wall. This is my oldest, the picture is a couple years old now, but I remember when I bought the transparency, I knew exactly what I wanted to make with it!

Beware!

I just wanted to share one more layout from my BlueMoon kit called Crow's Nest.

This is a hand-cut bat out of the Basic Grey papers and just to detail it a bit, I used some black stickles and wiggly eyes.

I used the frame to frame my journaling.

Love stiching.
To make the letters stick out a bit I just outlined them with a black marker.

Tonight's the night!

The November kit for A Kiss on the Chic will be up and ready to purchase at 7 Pacific time. These kits are limited in numbers, so be there early you don't want to miss out on the new Melody Ross line from GDC Studios, which is really cute!

I'm gonna show you my layouts now, before the reveal so you can get a feel of how great the products are. Make sure you check the blog to see the Em and Norma's work. Those 2 are so creative, I just love looking at their projects.

Layout 1..."Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful life":

The leaves and the lemon are from a vintage piece of paper and I just cut them out.

Look at the butterfly, my little tip for that is use your embossing heat gun to get the wings to bend up and stay. Once they get warm, they bend pretty quick.



My next layout, "Free Spirit":

I made a skirt for my page. This ribbon is really pretty, the color is so vibrant.


Using the very pretty Maya Road ribbon, crochet flowers and cute butterflies:

and the last layout, "Inner Beauty":

This is the Prima mulberry paper, I just cut out some of the flowers and layered some paper over the holes from the 12 x 12 sheet. (the alpha's are from my own supply, but went well with the butterflies I cut out)


The butterflies are cut out from a punch, using the vintage papers in the kit. I layered them, inked the edges and applied stickles around them. For the chipboard scrolls, I used some Tim Holts crackle paint and added liquid pearls for texture.



Take a look at the bottom of the paper...AWESOME, ribbon, it's already attached to the paper! I used an ink pad and turned the white lace pink, it matched better.
