Time for some sneaks!!!!!

I think it's time for some sneaks of the July Scrap for a Cure kit! I did a lot of sewing this time around. It really gives it some awesome texture and I love detailed work.

Plus you can sew anywhere (trust me on this, I know!) I took it on a 5 hour field trip bus ride, I took it to work for break/lunch time and it came camping with me. All you need to do is grab a couple supplies like a needle (or 2, depending if you loose the first one), mouse pad, awl, scissors and a few coordinating colors of embroidery thread and you are all set.





Stay tuned for a couple more sneaks coming up this week, I have tons! Plus the design team will be blog hoping so even more eye candy to been seen. I'll be sure to let you know when we are ready with that.

An entire week...gone!

Wow, last post since Tuesday of last week. What happened?

Well, I can tell you...my computer time went from full-time down to 20 minutes a day. Don't worry this is only for a short time. I'm just putting more hours in--- away from the house. Plus with summer here and the kids home, well they take over the computer!

A quick recap of my week. Work, work, work, work, work. But we did go camping on Saturday. We got a water front camping spot-so pretty! We enjoyed some fishing, hiking, marshmallows. You know all the good stuff camping has to offer, even great weather.

Everything was going good until Sunday. I forgot my makeup (don't laugh) so we came home to find out the water heater was leaking. We had to cut our camping trip a little short. We came home Monday morning to install a new one. But I got a ton done around the house. I believe this was the first sunny day I have been home and actually got to spend it outside.

I'll post some photos as soon as I can upload the. I'm also taking a photo class and took all the info with to to read about the different buttons on my camera. I think I got some good shots. I l learned a lot reading all the material and good tips on photo taking. I guess I'll see as soon as I get them up on the screen.

Captured through the lens

Today starts Day 1 of a new Photo class I'm taking. It's not only about learning how to use all those buttons on your camera but to bring a new perspective to the photos you take. Anyone who uses a camera can take it (point & shoot and dSLR).

The teacher, Katrina Kennedy is gonna rock this class. Just look at her blog and her photos, she certainly knows what's she's doing (unlike me). Here's a sample of the class, it's packed with tons of ideas in inspiration. Take for instance that bicycle, love-LOVE that photo!

A quick recap....

Busy, busy, busy! You know how it is with the last couple weeks of school.

The annual 2 day track meet for Brandon. Super weather too! Although it did get rained out the first day but the next 2 were awesome. He received 2 metals! Both Scott and I got to spend 1 afternoon there to watch.

and Kaden, joining in on the fun! This is the school mascot, a Bulldog! He had to try it on.

Next day, I joined Khila on a field trip to the Cave of the Mounds.

Here we are looking for rocks and "gems" in the sand. I think it was called sleuthing.



While I was there, Scott joined Kaden on a field trip to an outdoor school forest.

Then we have Kaden graduating! Isn't this the cutest!?!?!? My other 2 children didn't get to do this, so this was my first experience watching my little on graduate from preschool. Why is it, they have to play the songs about growing up during the ceremonies? It certainly made me realize time is going so fast.

Can't forget the 6th grade science fair. The group (Brandon and 3 friends) did a project on electricity. Another thought on growing up... my oldest is growing up so fast too. He'll be starting Jr. High next fall.


Khila's authorship night. She read all the stories she wrote during the school year along with a slide show of the 3rd grade recap. Again--the music about growing up.


and while all this is going on we are landscaping part of our yard and putting in a patio. As you can see-Kaden is a magnetic to dirt. If he's see dirt-be prepared to clean him up afterwards.

The landscaping is a process-a little bit each night (when we are home and weather permitting of course).

I also, if you can believe it, have been scrapbooking too! I'll be posting peeks of those soon. At the moment I'm working on the My Little Shoebox projects. I also just finished up the July kit for Scrap for a Cure.

So as school comes to an end this week, we plan on doing some camping and explore the great outdoors (aka inside of a camper).

I hope you are enjoying June and remember the kids grow up so fast, take time and spend it with them, you can't get those moments back-even if it means cutting back on the things you love the most.
