A Kiss on the Chic Layouts

Happy Friday to everyone!

I was given the ok to post the 5 layouts I complete with the February A Kiss on the Chic kit!

I decided to do something a little different and go for a 6 x 12 page. Very simple to complete in less than 30 minutes. I like to mix up my albums abit adding different size pages throughout.

I love the beautiful Websters Pages paper!

The papers are so versatile. They can be used for all sorts of pages. The colors work well for anything.

This one was done with the Fancy Pants paper. I love the way red and teal work together. I added a Prima Transparency, it almost looks like rub-ons, but without all the work. You can even paint them. I love the black and white around the picture.

Again, Fancy Pants paper with a touch of vintage embellishments.

I also had the project kit to work, I turned mine into a journal with poems, quotes and inspirational sayings. This project kit can be used for anything. I worked with the gorgeous Prima papers and many fun embellishments, some vintage (I love vintage!). I even dug out my sewing machine. I love the way a little stitching on a page goes a long way, it gives it that homey, put together feeling. If you have a sewing machine I challenge you to dig it out and sew on paper. It super easy (trust me!) and looks like you spend alot of time constructing the page. (which in my case is true, I do spend alot of time on each layout I do. I just like the little details and hand embellishing my work.)

Anyway, here's the cover for now and as soon as I get the word I'll post the inside pages with the details.

Here's a close up of the vintage patina metal frame, My favorite piece in the kit! I used some paper on the back side, but a photo would be very pretty in side of it. As always adding some sparkle to the flowers with stickles.

Everyone have a terrific day, I'm expecting a very important box today--lets just say a MANUFACTURE box of supplies. Yes, a manufacture asked me to guest design for them for the month of February. Although I can't tell you who yet, I have to wait a bit before I spill the beans. But, I'm super excited and honored. So stay tuned for that announcement!

Zany Zinnia January Layouts

Remember that beautiful kit I showed you a couple weeks ago from Zany Zinnia, well these are the 5 layouts I did using the kit. I really enjoyed working with that kit, making these layouts brought back so many wonderful memories of my Great-Grandma (aka: Granny), the birth of my son, the little tiny puppy we brought home a couple years ago. I would like to thank Stacy once again for the opportunity to guest design for her and her kit company.

Where does time go...

...Wow I haven't blogged since Tuesday.

A quick recap on the week.

Thursday and Friday ended up being "snow days". It wasn't because we had snow, it was because the temp's were around -30 below zero and a little more with the windchill. I took this photos around mid morning and this is temp gauge in next to the house where the sun hits it so it was wasn't accurate. But you get the picture, it was cold! Thursday and Friday I had to keep the kids entertained.

But, a little cold don't stop me from leaving the house. I had to go to the fabric store on Friday. Khila and I are making Handmade embellishments. We picked out these fabrics. I'll take pictures of our finished embellishments tomorrow when the sun comes out. We spend Saturday making felt embellishments. Tonight we are making more fabric yo-yo flowers

We have a fun assortment of colors. Thanks to her for picking out the brighter one. Our felt pile is just as colorful.

Sunday Khila had a birthday party at an ice skating ring. First time ever ice-skating and she is really good. I think Brandon felt a little left out since he never tried ice-skating either, so we let him rent a pair of skates for a couple hours. He was pretty good too! I only seen him on his butt a couple of times. LOL! Here's a couple of pictures of the kids:

It took me an hour to defrost my fingers and toes just from watching them. The temperature felt the same as outside. Like I said we didn't plan on staying and I wasn't prepared to sit there.

Onto scrapbooking news:

As soon as Stacy uploads her gallery at Zany Zinnia I'll be happy to share my work with you. I'm sure it will be this coming week.

I'll be stalking the mailman for my A Kiss on the Chic kit. I know there no mail tomorrow so we'll see when it gets here!

I'm still working on Project 365. I just printed out my photos from last week. I found that printing a weeks worth of pictures at a time and putting them in the book on the following Monday works best for me. I still have the journaling thoughts in my head too. And I'm happy to say so far so good, I'm on week 3 and I'm not behind! :)

I plan to spend the rest of my week in my scrapbook room (did you hear me Scott...I'm scrapping this week in my scrapbook room) hahah!-he teases me cause he don't think I spend a lot of time in it (but I really do during the day). I spend the nights on the computer and helping the kids with homework! Anyway, I plan to spend the rest of the week scrapping for A Kiss on the Chic. I hear she has some Beautiful kits this month. Stayed tuned and I'll let you know when you can see them. I'll show you some sneak peeks to. I have been given a "special" assignment this time around. I can't wait to get started I have so many idea's bouncing around in my head and thoughts on paper

Tuesday!

There's so much going on today, I'm not sure where to start!

I spend the better part of the morning and a few hours this afternoon putting together my Project 365 kit, adding photos, journaling and a few embellishments. I love the concept of this kit and I can't wait to look back on it in 10 years. I'm trying to include items of the "now", such as a grocery receipt (with the prices) and a picture of the gas pump. I just want normal everyday things that in 10 years down the road will all be changed and new high tech things will be out. It will be fun to see the growth in the kids too. 1 will be starting kindergarten and 1 will be off to junior high. So many changes to come.

I have sent my guest design work off to Stacy at Zany Zinnia, she mentioned the gallery will be up for the public around the 15Th and then I can post my work on my blog. I loved working with the kit, it's so beautiful! But, since you have to wait (and I know I hate waiting), I thought I'd share just a couple sneak peeks of the work I did.





Next, I wanted to share some sneak peeks of Laura's, A Kiss on the Chic February kits. I know my design team kit is on it's way and I'm very excited to work with it! Here are a few peeks until the full reveal. I love Webster's Pages papers. They are fun papers and easy to work with. Plus they are nice muted colors, just what I like to work with.

Today, also started the first day of the Homemade Embellishment class I'm taking at Debbie Hodge's site. We are making the cutest flowers. I don't want to give away any top secret information away, but you can still sign up and join the class. It's never to late to join! The teacher, Tania is a hoot! She's going to be fun to work with. Maybe she can help me get past my fear of bright colors, cause she rocks them! Here are a peek from the class list on Debbie's site.

Ok, I have finish unpacking from my crop this past weekend. I have to read the class info from today, help the kids with homework and those dreaded spelling words.

It's finally here!

Project 365 is here! If you have been following the many problems with this kit you know what it actually means to have one sitting on your counter.

A kit sought after by 1,000's of scrapbookers and only to find out 4,000 were made. Not only did the computer ordering system crash, orders were lost, payments being taken for kits what were even purchased. There was a lot of glitches on a holiday (of all days) when the workers had the day off. Then when it comes time to ship the orders were incorrect, sitting on the phone for hours to wait for customer service was a horrible experience (times that 3 times for me). First I was told I was getting one, the next phone I wasn't getting one and then the 3rd phone call I was getting one. It was a roller coaster ride that's for sure.

But I can finally say the kit finally made it to my house safe and sound. I think my husband will be happy, he won't have to hear the constant updates of what happened to today, where my kit was following it by the tracking numbers or who is or is not getting a kit. I feel bad for the girls that wanted one and they didn't get one. I hope the company gets more made to make these girls happy!

Phew...I'm just glad that's over! I can't wait for group over at Willow Traders to start working on the project together.

Tonight, I'm going to a weekend crop! I have to work on some guest design work for Zany Zinnia. Stacy sent me this kit:

I'll be back to post my work from the crop (If I get anything done, you know how it is...a lot of talking and eating and little scrapping goes on... but don't tell my husband that, he thinks I scrap)!

An old fashion Christmas album

I know I posted the cover before, well some of it. I changed it...a little. I used a clear glass bulb ornament from Michael's but what you can't see in the picture is that when you shake the book the glitter and little snow glass move around like a snow globe. And the bells on the side make noise too. Kinda like an interactive book. (except no one's aloud to touch it-LOL!) I used a few select photos from the last 10 Christmas's and made then black and white. Almost everything is from December's A Kiss on the Chic kit (except the album and ornament). This will surly be something to set out each year over the holidays.

YEAH for the train layout!

I woke up this morning to find my train layout (below 1 post) in the 10 ten at 2 pea's. Way to go train layout! That's so exciting!

Finally...a little scrapping time for me!

Here's a layout of my little Kaden (the picture was taken at his preschool Christmas program this last December). I used some Graphic 45 paper (love that stuff) and an old vintage train ticket.


I also finished a mini Christmas album today (expect the stickles are still drying). I'll be posting it tomorrow. I love the glass ornament on the front. It's very unique!

I'm so excited to be a Guest Designer for Zany Zinnia scrapbook kits this month. I can't thank Stacy enough for the opportunity. A New Year...

As they say out with the old in with the new! Happy New Years Everyone!!!!!!!

I don't make New Years Resolutions. Mostly because I won't follow through. Sure there are many things I want to do and get accomplished but I'm more of a spur of the moment type of person. I don't like lists, I don't like appointment, I do things as I see fit.

Like for instance I decided this week to redecorate Khila's bedroom. No plan in mind. We find the bedding and some paint and went to town. I still have to sew some pillows for the bed. Yes, I said sew! I figure if I could sew her curtains-how hard can a pillow be???? I kinda cheat though. I bought a matching valance and will cut it apart and stick pillow forms into it and sew the edge--see simple! The paint is a bit darker than expected but Khila wanted dark purple---she got dark purple!!! I'm going to buy a lime green throw rug, that should brighten up the room. I would rather see some nice art work on the walls than Hannah Montana-but who am I to argue with an 8 year old that spends most of her time in her room. As long as Hannah Montana is on small removable things and not the bedding I'm ok with it.
