My A Kiss on the Chic layouts

Here's are my layouts and projects for A Kiss on the Chic December kit! I really enjoyed working with this kit, I love all the vintage trinkets in the kit. There are 2 kits to pick from, I actually was fortunate to work with a little of each and mixed them up a bit for a fun look.

Here's a family wall hanging I made. I will be adding some instructions to my blog in a bit, but for now I leave you with the photos. This is surely be a family keepsake. I can hang it each year and look back on the pictures and see how the children have grown.

With the Thanksgiving Holiday coming I just wanted to mention a couple things I'm thankful for. The first and foremost is my healthy family. The second is the wonderful opportunities I have been given this year for scrapbooking. I really have to thank Laura for having me on her on design team, it means so much to me. It was a personal goal that I have achieved. I'm thankful for my friends, the ones that live near me and I seen quite a bit and for the friends that I have met online and have never met in real life. I love when I sit down and press the receive button on my email and those email come pouring in everyday. I'm thankful for the Willow Traders message board, I have met so many wonderful girls that enjoy the same thing I do, they share the creative projects and they share their personal feelings, it really is a wonderful community.

So what are you thankful for??????

Have a great Thanksgiving! I'm also going to start my Christmas shopping this weekend (wish I could say ...and finish it too. But, lets not go overboard! I would just like a good start on it)

I have to say this is one of my all time favorite kits I have ever worked with. I loved the vintage embellishments and papers, they look amazing with black and white photos. It gives it such a timeless feel.

I used my AKOTC November kit (the leftover pieces) to make little gift tags for gifts with them. Just think of the money I can save not going out and having to buy gift tags now. Even my kids can make them. If took me just minutes to crank these out and it was fun!

and this gift bag too! I embossed the snowflakes, they are full of texture now! I outlined everything in glitter (I know its hard to see on the screen.) Again using up the leftover pieces from my kit. The only problem is I don't know if I can give it away now.

Give the stamps a try, they look so good if you use them plain, but don't be shy and play around with them try embossing them or sprinkling glitter over the tops, even add flocking powder for added texture. I used some circle and scalloped punches to make shapes. If you are a card maker, just think of all the possibilities with them!

I'm expecting my A Kiss on the Chic December kit today or tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to use it. I already have ideas floating around in my head. A couple project ready to go.

Layouts from the weekend crop

Monday already, where did the weekend go? I have to unpack all my stuff from the crop today and get ready to scrap so more, I kinda feel like I'm on a roll now-I'm full of ideas and ambition!

Ok, Here are my 8 layouts that took me 2 days to complete. Like I said way to much talking, visiting and eating!

Kaden had pajama day at school and I of course take photos of it!

Just a quick layout of Brandon actually doing his homework-sometimes it's more of a struggle to get him to do than actually doing it. He's in 6th grade.

At the science expo last year. The kids were actually being filmed to be on the news the same time I was taking these pictures. Must have been there 15 minutes of fame. (actually more like 15 seconds!)

I love the way this turned out, for some reason it took me almost 5 hours to make this one, I guess way to much talking was involved. This is my daughter Khila from last summer.

Our family this fall at the pumpkin patch-kinda a starter page because I took over a 100 pictures at the pumpkin patch, which I still need to scrap. I wanted something a little different than the ordinary pumpkin patch photos so that were the house comes into play.

Kaden at a science expo, the pictures are a little blurry, but I still wanted to use them.

My favorite layout (and the one that won me a prize). Kaden again (he's so photogenic). I love the grundgeboard that I created to look like dandelions.

Back from the crop

I'm back from my weekend crop. As I type this I can barely move my fingers from way to much cutting. I had such a great time and I'm even signed up to go back in February! I made new friends, visited with old friends and by gosh, there are really people in my town that do scrapbook. I was beginning to think I was the only one.

I completed 8 layouts in 2 days! It would have been more but we also took a ride to Michael's (Our only scrap supply store around here) for a little shopping. I Indulged myself in a back massage-I so needed that! Ate way to much food, but it was all so good!! Talked and talked and talked with the girls, these are seriously some awesome ladies. I even won a prize for favorite layout-way cool!

I'll post my layouts later-as long as the sun stays out. My "new" friend I met told me about light boxes for photographing my layouts. I'll be getting one of those. I'm sure my lovely husband can build one of those for me.

These girls at the crop had no idea of the kit clubs out there. Don't worry I made them lists of website to help them, poor girls were limited to buying their stuff from Michael's and Walmart. I opened their eyes to the amazing kit clubs out there-they had no idea!

OK, now onto A Kiss on the Chic!...

My album made the top 10 at 2 pea's for a couple days. That was so exciting!-my first time ever!

Have a great day everyone-I'm off to do the grocery shopping for the week, unpack all my scrapbooking stuff so I can get ready to design with my mystery kit I'll be getting soon to design with. Oh, I also have to get my house back together after being gone all weekend. You know how it is: Mom's away the kids destroy and dad just don't clean like mom.

Oh, 1 more thing a deer hit our car on Saturday-ugh! Everyone was fine and there's not to much damage (thank goodness, it a brand new car!). The kids were a little scared-it all happened to fast as most accidents do.

No sun again...

Happy Thursday to everyone!

Apparently we are not having sunshine til May. It was dark outside again today! I did attempt to retake the photos. I suited up in my winter coat and mittens to stand outside in the 40 degree windy weather and take the pictures and as I'm half finished it starts to rain. UGH!

I really need to take a camera/photography class. Is there a photography 101 class or maybe a book for dummies? Sure I can point and shoot but my camera has all these manual buttons on them, I just have no idea how to use them. Anyone know of a site I can get a quick lesson. Yes, I have the camera manual book-I swear it's a different language, I read it over and over and I learned nothing. Or maybe I need photoshop to fix my photos. Maybe I should ask Santa for photoshop or a camera class!

I will post the pictures and yes I know they are not great. Bare with me as I try to figure my camera out, plus the MIA sun is not helping matters either.

Another dark day...

So much for taking the pictures of the clear album today. It's actually worse than yesterday, it's so dark, rainy and foggy. But, it is a great day for scrapbooking. I did 1 layout and a couple Christmas tags using A Kiss on the Chic November kit. There is so much in this kit, I'll be using it all week I think.

I still need to work on packing up my stuff for the weekend crop. But, how does 1 decide what they need...I need it all. I always put little page kits together and match photos up to them. My problem is tools-I use them all, but I'll need a suitcase to carry them in. I guess if I bring a suit case, I bring a suit case! LOL!

Well, since it's cold and yucky outside, I think I'll make myself a cup of hot cocoa and go back to scrapbooking!

Anyone start Christmas shopping yet? I really didn't (I have one gift I bought a couple months back if that counts). I need to make some lists first. I love shopping, I just hate going around the Holidays. The lines are so long, it's cold and there's no where to park. I should try shopping online this year. I did some last year-what a time saver.

Well, here's hoping for better weather tomorrow!

A snow album and some exciting news!

Hi everyone!

I just finished this clear acrylic album. I used the A Kiss on the Chic November kit called Christmas is Coming to Town. Loved using all the pinks and greens and all the fun stuff like Mica snow, silver glass glitter and all the little vintage finds that Laura sticks in with the kits. The picture is rather dark looking, as is the weather today. So hopefully tomorrow, if we have sunshine, I can retake the pictures and post the inside pages. I just wanted to show you what I have been working on the past couple of days.

I'm in the process of getting all my stuff together for a weekend crop this coming weekend. I'm so excited! I get to scrap with no interruptions!!!! No kids bothering me for something, no dog wanting to go outside, no stopping to make dinner, no laundry! I get to scrap for hours and hours on end. And the best part-I don't have to cook, someone will cook for us! They are also offering back massages too-for $10 I just might have to indulge in one of those! We will be at a local hotel, the conference room we are cropping in will be poolside (I'm thinking I may have to dip my feet in the pool!).

And my exciting news...drumroll please....

I have been asked to guest design for a scrapbook kit company using their December kit. I'm so beyond excited and honored she would ask me. I won't tell you the name of the kit company yet-you'll have to keep an eye out. I should be getting the kit very soon!

Well, I have to clean up play-doh now (the kids had the day off of school) but, I'll be back tomorrow to repost those pictures, have a great evening!
